28in. replacement nitro barrels (circa 1964, barrel numbers 19728 / 9), the ribs engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. ENGLAND', and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and full choke, scroll-back treble-grip actions incorporating J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897 with improved 'lighter pull-off' modification, patent no. 10567 of 7th May 1907, use numbers 2659 and 2495, toplevers engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT ONE TRIGGER' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, L.B. Taylor selective single trigger mechanisms of modified 'two pull type', patent no. 26659 of 17th November 1909, use numbers 301 and 265, triggerplate mounted barrel selector switches with gold-inlaid 'L' and 'R' details, hinged floorplates, profusely engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork with beaded bordering, the triggerguards engraved with scenes of pheasant and pointer, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14in. stocks with ink enhanced chequering and horn buttplates, fore-ends with horn finials and Deeley & Edge patent release catches, weight 6lb. 10oz., in their brass-cornered leather bound case
